We believe that by God’s grace, He has appointed elders to serve His church. Scripture shows us that each local body of believers is shepherded by a plurality of qualified, male pastors/elders. The elders are set aside by God to lead the church, to equip the saints, to preach the Word, and to pray (Eph. 4:11–12; 1 Tim. 3:1–7, 5:17–18). Their pastoral call is to humbly love and serve Christ and His Church. Pastor/Elders are to shepherd the flock willingly, not under compulsion or for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in their charge, but serving as examples to the flock (1 Pet. 5:2–3)
